Third-party cookies
A small number of third-party cookies may be set on the site: an analytics cookie that counts anonymous page views and an affiliate cookie that records the referral if a reader clicks through to the Elderbreaks operator. Each vendor documents its own cookies in its own policy, and readers can block those cookies at the browser level without breaking the review pages themselves.
Analytics
The analytics cookie tells us how many people opened a given page in a given month, which pages they arrived from and where they left the site. It does not carry a persistent user identifier and cannot be tied to an email, an account or a device fingerprint. If the browser is set to send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we treat that as a request to disable analytics for that session.
Which cookies we use
Two functional cookies are used on the site itself: one that remembers the reader's preferred dark or light theme and one that stores the answer to the age gate for the current browser. Both are first-party, both expire within six months and neither leaves the browser. The rest of the cookies on any given page come from the analytics and affiliate tools mentioned above.
Affiliate cookies
When a reader clicks a link to Elderbreaks, the affiliate network sets a short-lived cookie in the reader's browser that lets the network attribute a later sign-up back to us. That cookie carries an anonymous identifier and the date of the click; it does not carry the reader's email, IP address or any account information. Blocking the cookie does not prevent sign-up on the operator's side.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks the browser to store, so that the site can recognise the same browser on the next visit. Cookies do not carry programs, cannot access files on the device and are limited to the domain that set them. Modern browsers offer fine-grained cookie controls in their settings panel, and every reader can clear all cookies for elderbreaks.net at any time without losing anything important.
